Deviants re-create the past through fashion.Since art has existed artists have drawn on the past to create their masterpieces. Some paint, some draw, some create statues and some re-create the clothing.Around the world today there are artists working on showing a past fashion through the construction of a garment. Sometimes this is the reproduction of a surviving garment down to the thread count, sometimes they are simply trying to grasp the look of the period using modern techniques and materials and mostly they fall somewhere in between. Creating past fashion isn’t easy. First you have to figure out what was worn. Sometimes this isn’t too hard, you look at some photos, some surviving garments, you read some books, you talk to some people.
